SECTION 1: IDENTIFICATION

Glass enamel coloring material

SECTION 2: HAZARD(S) IDENTIFICATION

Several of the potential hazardous ingredients (listed in section 3) have been chemically reacted at high temperatures and are homogeneously and ionically interdiffused to form essentially insoluble pigment crystals with a crystalline matrix of spinel. This means they do not necessarily have any of the properties of its component oxides or metals. Long term inhalation of silica dust or mist over an extended period of time may result in injury to the lungs or silicosis.
Important Safety Note: When handling powdered enamels, use appropriate respiratory protection and avoid creating airborne dust.

* The exact ingredient percentages of composition may be withheld as trade secrets where permitted by law. **These colors are inorganic products of fusion at high temperatures; as a result, the individual constituents are rendered essentially inert and do not exhibit the same chemical properties as if they existed in the pure state.

SECTION 4: FIRST-AID MEASURES

If inhaled, move affected individual to fresh air. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Hold eyelids apart to insure rinsing of the entire eye surface and lids with water. In ingested, give at least 3-4 glasses of water, but do not induce vomiting. For skin contact irritation, wash affected area with plenty of water and soap, for several minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Non-Flammable. No polymerization but toxic fumes may be released when material is melted. Material is stable. Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing when fighting chemical fires.

SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Uncontaminated material may be recovered and used, otherwise clean up with paper towels and dispose of in trash receptacle. Avoid generation of dust. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE

Close lid tightly. Store in dry area. Avoid contact with eyes and clothing. Use adequate ventilation. Wear suitable gloves, glasses and face protection. Minimize dust generation during handling. If spraying, use NIOSH approved respirator for dust and mist is required. Practice good housekeeping.

SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Use adequate ventilation. Wear safety glasses and gloves as needed. Use a NIOSH certified (or equivalent) particle respirator when handling powders or when dust may become airborne.

SECTION 9: PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES

Appearance: Colored powder or liquid, depending on product. Odor: None or mild. Vapor Density: 1. Solubility: Insoluble.

SECTION 10: STABILITY AND REACTIVITY

Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions. Chemically stable. No reactivity.

SECTION 11: TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

May cause eye irritation, skin irritation, and respiratory tract irritation. Product may be abrasive to skin and eyes. Prolonged or repeated inhalation of respirable silica-containing dust or mist over extended periods may result in lung injury, including silicosis. This product may contain crystalline silica, which is classified by IARC as a suspected human carcinogen when inhaled in respirable form over prolonged periods. No known skin or respiratory sensitization effects.

SECTION 12: ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

No specific ecological data available. Avoid release into waterways or the environment.

SECTION 13: DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS

Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

SECTION 14: TRANSPORT INFORMATION

Protect against physical damage. TDG: Not regulated. DOT: Not regulated.

SECTION 15: REGULATORY INFORMATION

Not classified. Not subject to TSCA 12(b)
