SECTION 1: IDENTIFICATION

Glass enamels

SECTION 2: HAZARD(S) IDENTIFICATION

The potential hazardous ingredients (listed in section 3) have been chemically reacted at high temperatures and are homogeneously and ionically interdiffused to form essentially insoluble pigment crystals with a crystalline matrix of spinel. This means they do not necessarily have any of the properties of its component oxides or metals. Long term inhalation of silica dust or mists, over an extended period of time may result in injury to the lungs or silicosis. May irritate eyes; smoking aggravates these effects.
Important Safety Note: When handling powdered enamels, use appropriate respiratory protection and avoid creating airborne dust.

* The exact ingredient percentages of composition may be withheld as trade secrets where permitted by law. ** These colors are inorganic products of fusion at high temperatures; as a result, the individual constituents are rendered essentially inert and do not exhibit the same chemical properties as if they existed in the pure state.

SECTION 4: FIRST-AID MEASURES

If inhaled, move affected individual to fresh air. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Hold eyelids apart to insure rinsing of the entire eye surface and lids with water. In ingested, give at least 3-4 glasses of water, but do not induce vomiting. For skin contact irritation, wash affected area with plenty of water and soap, for several minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation persists or if breathing becomes difficult.

SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

Non-Flammable. Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing when fighting chemical fires.

SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Uncontaminated material may be recovered and used, otherwise clean up with paper towels and dispose of in trash receptacle.

SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE

Close lid tightly to prevent dust generation. Store in dry area. Avoid contact with eyes and clothing. Use adequate ventilation. If spraying, use NIOSH approved respirator for dust and mist is required. Practice good housekeeping.

SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION

Use adequate ventilation. Wear safety glasses and gloves as needed. Use a NIOSH certified (or equivalent) particle respirator when handling powders or when dust may become airborne.
